Apalachicola Fishing Reports
Apalachicola Fishing Report
Spring fishing is heating up in Apalachicola Bay and the surrounding river systems! Redfish and Speckled Trout have been biting consistently in the bay, especially on the grass flats and near oyster bars using live shrimp and soft plastics. Triple Tail are starting to show up around crab trap buoys and floating debris, while Sheepshead continue to hang around structure like bridges and pilings. In the rivers, White Trout and the occasional Flounder have been making an appearance as water temps warm up. With baitfish returning to the area and weather conditions improving, it’s a perfect time to get out on the water and enjoy a productive day of fishing.
Captain Junior Holland of Fishing With Holland has been staying on the fish and knows exactly where to go depending on tides and time of day. Whether you're looking to fill the cooler or just enjoy the beauty of Apalachicola Bay, now is a fantastic time to book your trip.
We get these questions frequently. What fish are biting in Apalachicola right now? Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Triple Tail, and White Trout are currently the most active species. The spring season brings a variety of fish into the bay and river systems. Do I need a fishing license? Nope! When you fish with Fishing With Holland, you're covered under Captain Junior Holland’s charter license. Just bring yourself, and we’ll handle the rest. What should I bring on a fishing trip? We recommend sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, sunglasses, food and drinks, and a camera to capture the fun. Captain Junior provides all the tackle, bait, and gear you’ll need for the trip.
